Getting started
- Add the complete puzzle image.
Photograph the finished design shown on the box or choose a clear image from Photos. - Confirm the four corners.
Adjust the corner handles so only the printed puzzle image is selected. - Scan one loose piece.
Place the piece on a plain, contrasting surface and take a close, sharp photo. - Review the suggestions.
The app highlights the most likely location and alternative matches for comparison.
Get better results
- Lay the puzzle image flat and keep the whole printed design visible.
- Avoid camera shake, strong shadows, and large areas of glare.
- Use a background color that differs from the loose piece.
- Keep the piece large in the frame, fully visible, and in focus.
- Enter the correct piece count when creating a puzzle.
Troubleshooting
The suggested location looks wrong
Take another photo with the piece larger and sharper, use even lighting, and remove nearby objects from the background. Also confirm that the four corners of the complete puzzle image were placed accurately.
The puzzle image was cropped incorrectly
Return to the puzzle image, move each corner handle onto the printed image corner, and confirm the crop again. Exclude the box border, table, hands, and nearby objects.
The first search after opening the app is slower
The app may need a short one-time preparation period after launch. Later searches in the same session should usually begin more quickly.
A saved piece will not open
Close and reopen the puzzle from History. If the issue continues, include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the steps that caused the problem when contacting support.
Purchases and access
Is Unlimited Access a subscription?
No. Unlimited Access is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. The price displayed by Apple at the time of purchase is the price you pay.
How do I restore a purchase?
Use Restore Purchases in the app while signed in with the Apple Account that made the original purchase. You will not be charged again for the same non-consumable purchase.
Who handles my payment details?
Apple processes App Store payments. Puzzle Detective does not receive your full payment card details.
