1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Puzzle Detective: Piece Finder ("Puzzle Detective," "the app," "we," "us," or "our"). It covers information handled by the app and by services used to provide trial access, purchase verification, security, and support.

2. Puzzle photos and local projects

The app requests access to the camera or to photos you select so that you can add a complete puzzle image and scan loose pieces. These images are processed on your device.

Your puzzle images, piece photos, project names, puzzle counts, saved match locations, and match history are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, read, store, sell, or share these images or local project contents on our servers.

You can remove a project using the app's delete control. You can remove the app's local data by deleting the app. Copies managed by your operating-system backup settings are controlled through your Apple device and account settings.

3. Service and security data

When online access controls are active, the app may send limited information needed to operate and protect the service:

  • App or device credential: a device-linked or app-install identifier, including Apple App Attest material, used to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app and to help prevent abuse.
  • Trial and product interaction: limited records such as whether a trial search was used and the remaining trial entitlement.
  • Diagnostics: basic server request records, error details, app version, operating-system version, and general device model when needed to keep the service reliable and investigate failures.

We use this information only for app functionality, entitlement management, security, fraud prevention, reliability, and support. We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. In-app purchases

Apple processes payments made through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. To unlock or restore access, the app or our service may receive and validate transaction information such as a transaction identifier, product identifier, purchase status, and refund or revocation status.

5. Service providers and sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information for behavioral advertising, and the app does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Limited service data may be processed by providers acting on our behalf, including Apple for App Store purchases and app-attestation services, and our cloud infrastructure provider for authorization, security, and diagnostics. These providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services and are expected to protect it under their applicable terms and privacy obligations.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention and deletion

Local puzzle photos and project data remain on your device until you delete the project or the app, subject to backups controlled through your Apple settings.

Purchase and entitlement records are retained as needed to provide and restore access, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Trial, security, and diagnostic records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, then deleted or de-identified.

7. Your choices

  • You can deny or revoke camera and photo access in iOS Settings. Some app features will not work without the images you choose to provide.
  • You can delete local puzzle projects in the app.
  • You can contact us to ask about service data linked to your app or device credential, or to request deletion where applicable. We may need limited information to verify the request.

8. Children's privacy

Puzzle Detective is a general-audience utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Puzzle photos remain on the device. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without any consent required by law, we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, its services, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice when required.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email Support email to be added before launch.

When making a data request, describe the request and include enough information for us to identify the relevant app credential or transaction without sending unnecessary personal information.
